The Peace Forest Project
Join Jews, Christians and Muslims in restoring the earth on 10.10.10 in Denver!
The Peace Forest is a project undertaken by members of the three Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) that invites people of all faiths to foster community and heal the earth in a world facing unprecedented social and environmental challenges.
The Peace Forest, an initiative of BridgeWorks, sponsored by the Abrahamic Initiative and hosted by the Colorado Interfaith Power and Light, is a hands-on tree-planting project that will take place in Denver on Sunday 10/10/10 to coincide with the International Global Work Day for of Climate Action sponsored by 350.org. Together, we will plant 100 shrubs and saplings along the Sand Creek Regional Greenway to mitigate climate change, purify the air, protect the soil, beautify our city and transform our future. This stretch of greenway will be a growing symbol of our common religious values of stewardship of the creation, as well as our cooperative ability to restore the earth. We rejoice in this profound opportunity to work and grow together.
