Going Green with The Conversionator!

Rawlins Middle School, 6th Grade Science Classes, Rawlins WY

"Rebekah led the students through an awareness of recycling and the amounts of unneccessary waste with the help of the Conversionator, an interactive website that converts recyclables into alternate products for use and amounts of these products.  My students were in awe about the amount of plastics etc. that are consumed in a day, month, and a year.  Rebekah  opened the eyes of these 6th graders to recycling and how it helps our environment one person at a time.  Rebekah had a captive audience and through her own unique way made connections with the students and fueled their desire to do what is right for our environment.  Thank you, Rebekah."

So happy to be there on 10.10.10 as one of the 100 to have been in at the beginning of the Peace Forest.  It was my first real interfaith and intercultural experience.  I left with such positive feelings for the project and for the warm, caring people who came together that day.  I treasure my book mark, handed to me at the end, made lovingly by volunteers.  It is a daily reminder to me of the difference people can make towards bettering our Earth.
