Feasts and Holy Days:
Jewish Roots of Christian Worship
A Theologian-In-Residence Event

What do three ancient harvest/pilgrimage festivals and the 4th commandment have to do with worship in your church today? More than you might think!  This worshipful workshop will help you discover the ancient roots of Christian worship. And enrich your congregation's worship life today.

In this hands-on, participatory, engaging experience, participants will discover anew the exciting connections between Jesus' Jewish practices and the Church's cycles of celebration--from Sunday worship to Easter and Pentecost.  As well as the Biblical roots of Thanksgiving.

Includes a primer of Jewish holidays with connections to the Church year, and where possible, a trip to a Jewish temple or synagogue.

Session 1  Sabbath and the Lord's Day:  Rest and Resurrection
Session 2  Passover and Easter:  Exodus from Slavery
Session 3  Shavuot and Pentecost:  The Giving of the Law and of the Spirit

This workshop can also be held as a series of retreats.  It can also be adapted seasonally to include other holidays.
