Pass the Ham, and the Matzah, and the Tamales:  Strengthening Diversity in the Local Church
A Workshop

In the early days of its history, the Church was multiethnic, multicultural and even multifaith, (Jew and Greek, male and female, slave and free). So why is it that so many of our congregations today are fairly homogenous?

If Christ has opened the Church to people of all ages, nations, and races, why is it such a struggle to create congregations which reflect that diversity?

Perhaps it's because our CQ* is too low!

The Book of Revelation describes a beautifully diverse heaven where a great multitude that no one can count from every nation, tribe, people, and language will gather in front of the throne to worship God.

The question is:  Will any of them meet at your church?

Today, may of us come from very diverse families--ethnically, culturally, racially, and religiously.  in fact, these kinds of families are becoming the new norm.

The diversity you seek to create in your congregation may well be closer than you think.  But creating a convincing welcome is another matter.

Too often we have unconscious roadblocks in the way.  This hands-on interactive workshop helps you assess your congregation and community in order to consciously create the kind of welcome that strengthens diversity.
