Good Friday/Bad Friday:
The Death of Jesus through Jewish Eyes

Lenten Study
A Theologian-In-Residence Event

The saving death of Jesus is the cornerstone of the Christian faith.

It has brought hope and healing to many.

But it has also engendered much hurt and harm.

So is the day of the death of Jesus a good Friday or a bad Friday?

It depends on how we understand the answer to the question:  who killed Jesus and why?

For instance, in Europe good church-going Christians conducted violent riots and killing sprees known as "pogroms" against their Jewish neighbors during Holy Week.  Even in the 20th century.  This deadly blame game makes for a bad Friday indeed.

However a close reading of the New Testament reveals there is more than one way to answer the question of who killed Jesus.  In fact, it offers at least four different answers!

This Lent, discover what the Bible has to say about the death of Jesus.  And how to dismantle the blame game.  Studied through Jewish eyes, and the lens of emotional triangles, reclaim the power of resurrection this Easter season.
